The precipitate you see at the bottom of the container is due to the natural pigmentation that gives our asparagus its green and green-purple colour. This pigment, called “routine”, is part of the vitamin P complex, and acts as a beneficial antioxidant. It is also good for the permeability of capillaries, which are good for the overall health of the circulatory system.
